Winter on the Salto

When the Salto lies beneath a white blanket, calm returns – and that is exactly what makes winter up here so special. “Directly from the farm, you can set off on beautiful winter and snowshoe hikes, for example to the Stoanerne Mandlen, the Langfenn Circular Trail, Malga Meltina, or Passo di Meltina. For those who prefer a more relaxed pace, simply enjoy the fresh air and the view over the snow-covered Val d’Adige. The slope right next to the farm provides fun for sledging – perfect for children – or you can head to the sledging run at Merano 2000. Crampons and walking poles are available to hire from us.

The Merano 2000 ski area is only about a 20-minute drive away – perfect for a day on the slopes before returning to the peaceful winter world at Langfenn.

South Tyrol Guest Pass: car-free freedom

With the South Tyrol Guest Pass, which you can use free of charge as our guests, you can travel throughout South Tyrol – free of charge and in an environmentally friendly manner. During your stay, you can use buses, trains and public cable cars as often as you like. The Vilpian–Meltina cable car offers a special experience: it connects the Adige Valley with the high plateau around Meltina. From Langfennhof, drive to the mountain station in Schlaneid near Meltina, park there conveniently and take the cable car down into the valley – or vice versa. This makes the journey itself a little adventure with a view.
